Hours of Operation & Special Events

Hours for the train are subject to change based on weather and other conditions. Hours may be extended seasonally. For the most up-to-date closure information, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Friday – Tuesday: OPEN 10:00 a.m.- 6:45 p.m.
The train is closed daily from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday – Thursday: CLOSED

Ticket Pricing

$6.00 (plus tax)

Children under 2: FREE

Tickets can be purchased at the train depot on the day of your ride on a first-come, first-served basis. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

Parking & Transportation

Zilker Train Depot - Zilker Park, Austin, Texas

The Zilker Eagle departs from the Train Depot located at 2131 1/2 William Barton Drive. For information regarding parking, fees and transportation options to access Zilker Park, please visit this website.

Attention ZE riders: We recently partnered with Austin Ed Fund to launch a new field trip program, allowing us to provide thousands of free rides to AISD students throughout the year.

With the launch of this program, we have phased out our previously scheduled Community Hours (first Friday free rides). Thank you for your understanding as we aim to offer free rides for kids in need in the best way possible.

Group Rides

School Trips, Birthdays and other Groups:

Schools will receive a discount of $1.00 per ticket. Schools must make arrangements ahead of time to bring students to ride the Zilker Eagle. Schools must provide a signed tax exempt certificate and either prepay with a check or at the time of the event. Only one person may pay for the entire group. Group size is defined as twenty (20) or more students (parents are not included).

TRAIN RULES

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult

No strollers allowed on the train

Children under the age of 2 must sit on an adult’s lap for the duration of the ride

Pets are not permitted on the train except for service animals

Passengers must remain seated at all times during the ride

Passengers must keep head, hands, feet and arms and inside the train at all times

The train must come to a complete stop before loading and unloading passengers

When to Arrive

Tickets can be purchased with cash or credit card at the Train depot. Train tickets can only be purchased in-person on the day of your ride. All train rides are first-come, first-served.

The Zilker Eagle train and loading ramp are wheelchair accessible!
